Job summary

Cherry Aerospace, a PCC division, is seeking a 2nd Shift Tool Designer in Santa Ana, CA. You will craft hyper-precise SolidWorks models, 2D drawings, and packaging for tooling used in cold heading and hot forge departments.

You’ll work directly with master tool and die makers to deliver robust, high‑precision tooling that powers our production line. Bring 5–10 years of SolidWorks expertise, ASME/Y14.5 GD&T knowledge, and a proven ability to design for manufacturability in aerospace.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of parametric SolidWorks modeling.
• Strong ASME modeling and GD&T knowledge (Y14.5).
• Ability to read, interpret, and reverse‑engineer complex blueprints and router instructions.
• Proven track record designing components for manufacturability in aerospace.
• Sharp algebra and geometry skills with strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Design & Innovate: create precise parametric SolidWorks models and 2D drawings.
• Bring blueprints to life: engineer component drawings and work instructions for products.
• Master ASME standards: draft layouts meeting ASME and GD&T requirements.
• Own the math: manage tolerance stackups and GD&T applications with high accuracy.
• Keep production moving: monitor lead times to avoid schedule delays.
