PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an SMT Operator in Maple Grove, MN. This role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining SMT equipment to produce high-reliability assemblies in regulated environments. IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001 readiness are emphasized.

You will perform soldering under a microscope, inspect placements, and work with engineers on NPI while ensuring documentation and clean, safe operations.

Formación

• Experience in SMT setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read blueprints and process documentation.
• Willingness to obtain J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
• Ability to perform precision soldering using a microscope.
• Standing, repetitive motion, bending and twisting.
• Visual acuity and color vision as required.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers and pick-and-place machines.
• Align and maintain solder paste stencils for high-quality application.
• Verify component placement, polarity and values during operation.
• Follow engineering docs to process lead and lead-free assemblies.
• Monitor SMT materials, inventory levels and expiration dates.
• Perform preventative maintenance and request service when needed.
• Inspect assemblies with X-ray systems to ensure quality.
• Conduct rework and touch-up with Air-Vac and hand soldering under a microscope.
• Collaborate with engineers on NPI.
• Complete process documentation accurately and ensure compliance.
• Train and support new team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support improvements.
