Job summary

Jessup Manufacturing Company in McHenry, IL is seeking a Slitting Associate 1 for the 2nd shift (3:30 PM - 12:00 AM). You will operate the Slitter Machine, follow production orders, and maintain quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, loading material, monitoring run quality, and communicating workload status to supervisors. Requires high school or equivalent and 3+ years’ manufacturing experience; slitting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• 3+ years’ experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment. Slitting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understands instructions from the Production Manager and follows them accurately.
• Reviews and understands the production order and any special instructions; seeks clarification if required.
• Sets up and operates slitting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Suggests process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, safety and communication.
• Communicates material requirements to Material Handlers to meet production or packaging demands.
• Loads material, sets blade position, runs per work order, and completes orders on time.
• Verifies product quality meets customer and Jessup standards; reports defects to Team Leader.
• Maintains accurate material usage and records on work orders.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and adheres to safety practices.
