Job summary

Pelton Shepherd Industries in Columbus, OH is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to be the backbone of our supply chain in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where accuracy matters every day.

You’ll receive materials, stage shipments, inspect goods, use handheld scanners and warehouse software, and keep the area organized and safe. Strong attention to detail, basic math, and teamwork are essential. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free warehouse environment.
• Prepare and stage outgoing shipments (LTL, UPS, and truckload).
• Stretch wrap, label, and organize pallets for shipment.
• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
• Verify product accuracy against shipping documents.
• Complete freight logs, quality checks, and receiving documentation.
• Ensure all shipments are approved prior to release.
• Store raw materials and finished goods in proper locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized warehouse (including routine cleaning).
• Pull materials for production as needed.
• Perform inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Inspect warehouse equipment and report any issues.
• Use warehouse management systems and handheld scanners for tracking.
• Maintain documentation for equipment and inventory.

What You’ll Do

• Ability to push/pull up to 75-100 lbs (with equipment assistance)
• Frequent reaching, bending, and handling tasks
