Job description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair and operation products, is searching for a 1st Shift Packer in our Columbus, OH distribution center.

Responsibilities

• Package parts.
• Set up scale machine for proper weight of box being packaged.
• Lifts waist to waist and carries up to 50 pounds.
• Fill box with parts until proper weight is indicated and affix labels to boxes.
• Packs boxes onto shelf boxes.
• Visually inspect all merchandise for quality and check for any defects or bad plating.
• Accurately package merchandise while maintaining a high production level.
• Document quality standards including product accuracy, labeling quality, and country of origin accuracy.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write small letters and numbers, make arithmetic calculations, and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to concentrate and communicate with management and co‑workers.
• Ability to lift objects weighing fifty (50) pounds waist to waist.
• Ability to push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• Ability to frequently bend and twist the back.
• Ability to finely manipulate and grip objects.
• Ability to squat and reach.

Additional Information

This position pays $18 per hour, plus $200 BONUS opportunities. The hours are Monday‑Friday, 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.
