Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems at the York, PA Grantley plant is seeking a Sr. Production Supervisor (1st Shift) to lead welding and fabrication teams in delivering high-reliability A/C plant components for the US Navy and Coast Guard.

You will supervise up to 30 employees, drive continuous improvement, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate daily/weekly production plans with department leaders. Eligible for benefits from day one, with a base salary of $76,100–$95,000.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership to guide unionized manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement manufacturing systems (6S, Lean, Six Sigma).
• Welding knowledge aligned with NAVSEA 248/278 standards is preferred.
• Experience in a union environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of welding and fabrication trades to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
• Coordinate work across shifts and supervise up to 30 employees.
• Build relationships to drive productivity and best practices.
• Promote a collaborative, team-first environment and remove barriers.
• Schedule production plans with department leaders and review backlog for at-risk orders.
• Provide training and maintain training records; enforce safety procedures and 6S housekeeping.
• Ensure on-time unit starts and maintain daily labor/attendance records.
