Job summary

Southco is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Technician for a 2nd shift (2:30 PM–10:30 PM) in a factory setting. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, address PLC issues, and mentor junior staff to keep production safe and productive.

You will collaborate with management to prioritize work, repair critical equipment, and push continuous improvements such as 5S and OEE across the facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or NY Journeyman Certificate; Associates or equivalent degree preferred, but not required.
• Driver's license.
• Certification on all lift equipment.
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lb.
• Minimum 10 years experience in the field or related area.
• Working Knowledge of PLC trouble shooting and intermediate to advanced programming.
• Safety conscious.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic principles.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to train others.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair machines, feed systems, control systems and other production equipment.
• Replace broken or worn parts; make adjustments and/or recommend work to be performed.
• Perform repair of electrical and mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Lead/participate in continuous improvement actions (5S, VSM, mistake proofing, OEE).
• Perform advanced PLC troubleshooting and programming modifications.
• Read and interpret drawings and electrical schematics.
• Move or install machinery and equipment as needed.
• Document and upload reports to Frontline.
