Job summary

The Westborough Public Schools seek a dedicated 2nd shift Custodian to join Mill Pond School in Westborough, MA. The role focuses on keeping classrooms, hallways, and grounds clean and safe for students and staff, reporting to the Building Principal and Grounds supervisor.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 pounds, work the 2nd shift, and comply with CORI/SORI background checks as part of the hiring process. Salary is set per the district’s contract with the AFL-CIO, State Council 93.

Qualifications

• Preferable basic custodial procedures knowledge.
• Ability to relate to staff, teachers, and students.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Must regularly lift at least 40 pounds.
• Background checks (CORI, SORI, SAFIS) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks per district procedures.
• Maintain health and safety protocols.
• Keep building and premises tidy and safe.
• Operate snow removal tools and treat walkways.
• Ensure doors and panic devices function during occupancy.
• Assist with minor repairs and report major issues.
