Wakefield Public Schools is seeking a dependable Custodian MO-1 for the second shift at Wakefield Memorial High School in Wakefield, MA. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment with a schedule of 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Starting date is immediate, with a competitive hourly salary range of $24.08–$29.20. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent or 3+ years custodial/maintenance experience, strong cleaning

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or minimum 3 years custodial/maintenance experience.
• General knowledge of custodial cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Ability to perform moderately heavy manual labor and routine physical tasks.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with staff, administrators, and coworkers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated reliability and good personal character.
• Successful completion of required background checks (fingerprinting, CORI, SORI).

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of custodial and maintenance duties under general supervision.
• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other areas.
• Sweep, dust, scrub, and mop floors.
• Wash floors, walls, windows, furniture, tables, and sinks.
• Polish floors, furniture, and metal fixtures.
• Set up and arrange tables and chairs for meetings and events.
• Transport and deliver supplies, equipment, and materials as needed.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
• Complete assigned work with minimal direction while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform additional custodial or maintenance duties as assigned.
