Job summary

Ponaganset High School is seeking a Custodian for 2nd shift to support a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment. The role spans cleaning, minor repairs, and building maintenance across the campus, reporting to the Principal and Director of Building and Grounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning and maintenance of the building as assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds or Principal.
• Familiarity with life safety code provisions and equipment operation/maintenance.
• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms and common areas per schedule.
• Operate heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systems within assigned parameters.
• Request and manage cleaning supplies and inventory; snow removal when needed.
• Assist with security, fire safety and evacuations; supervise building when warranted.
• Perform minor repairs and assist with maintenance tasks and events.

Education

High School/Trade School degree

Possesses high school diploma or equivalent training/experience

Citizenship, residency or work visa required
