Job summary

Ponaganset High School is seeking a Custodian for 2nd shift to support a clean, safe and welcoming learning environment. The role spans cleaning, minor repairs, and building maintenance across the campus, reporting to the Principal and Director of Building and Grounds.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

General cleaning and maintenance of the building as assigned by the Director of Building and Grounds or Principal.
Familiarity with life safety code provisions and equipment operation/maintenance.
Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms and common areas per schedule.
Operate heating, A/C, ventilation, electrical and mechanical systems within assigned parameters.
Request and manage cleaning supplies and inventory; snow removal when needed.
Assist with security, fire safety and evacuations; supervise building when warranted.
Perform minor repairs and assist with maintenance tasks and events.
