Job summary

Rise Baking Company is seeking a Sanitation Technician I for the 2nd shift in California. You will support the sanitation program by cleaning plant equipment and facilities in accordance with food safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualified candidates typically have 1 year of kitchen or food plant sanitation experience, knowledge of SSOPs, safe chemical handling, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in kitchen cleaning or food plant sanitation.
• Basic knowledge of pre-rinse/wash/rinse/sanitize steps.
• Basic knowledge of top-down washing sequence for food safety.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation chemical usage.
• Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout programs.
• Ability to learn cleaning all plant lines and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to problem-solve and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic wash area duties including running a pan washer and hand cleaning as needed.
• Disassemble/setup equipment for cleaning (covers, piping, electrical components).
• Complete cleaning tasks per SSOPs.
• Identify equipment needing deep cleaning.
• Use chemicals safely to clean effectively.
• Report safety, food safety, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with safety and food safety training, policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
