Job summary

Dessert Holdings is hiring a Sanitation Supervisor for the Newburyport, MA facility to lead the 2nd shift on Monday through Thursday. You will ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and SSOP compliance across production lines and support pest control and GMP programs.

Work with QA to uphold BRC, HACCP, and GMP standards, train sanitation staff on SSOPs, and maintain records of inspections and KPIs. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish and a collaborative approach in a fast-paced food

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in food science, microbiology, food safety or equivalent.
• 3+ years in QA or Sanitation role in a food manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years' experience in a Supervisory or Team leader role.
• Education and experience may be substituted or combined to meet the qualifications.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Knowledge of Microbiology, Sanitation, Chemical Safety and Pest Control.
• Intermediate Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point).
• Ability to work flexible work schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide staff to clean and sanitize production line equipment and facilities according to schedules and SSOPs.
• Implement and maintain sanitation procedures and training in compliance with the company's Sanitation Program.
• Monitor and address employee performance and adherence to attendance policies, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
• Provide hands‑on support for chemical handling, safety procedures, and organized storage of sanitation supplies.
• Oversee pest control management, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating pest control activities to maintain a safe and compliant facility.
• Monitor sanitation performance, identify issues, and assist with corrective actions for non‑compliance areas.
• Collaborate with other departments and shifts to resolve sanitation‑related concerns promptly.
• Assist in audits (GFSI/FSC22000) and support corrective actions as needed.
• Train sanitation staff on SSOPs, GMPs, and safety standards.
• Maintain records of inspections, violations, and sanitation KPIs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support a clean, safe, and compliant manufacturing environment.
