Job summary

Mitchell & Associates is seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance technician to service robots and automated welding systems in a fast‑paced plant in Michigan. You will train maintenance staff, develop PM strategies, and ensure reliable operation of automated equipment across shifts.

The role requires hands‑on robotics and welding knowledge, strong problem solving, and the ability to lead a team with minimal supervision. Overtime may be required to support production schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree in robotics technology or equivalent preferred.
• 1–5 years practical field experience in robotics/maintenance.
• Strong understanding of robotics, control systems, and machine operation with hands‑on experience.
• Solid programming, mechanical and electrical problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on robots and automated welding machines.
• Train and guide maintenance personnel on automated and facilities equipment.
• Develop and refine PM strategies and identify improvement areas for equipment.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for daily maintenance needs on new and existing equipment.
• Lead maintenance activities on assigned shifts and coordinate with production requirements.
• Monitor maintenance staff performance and escalate issues to management as needed.
• Attend daily shift meetings and participate in pre-design reviews for new machinery.
• Support launches of new programs across departments and direct contractors during projects.
