Job summary

QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Operator for a company in St. Louis, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on 2nd shift.

You will work with CNC milling on Haas machines (including 5-axis) and CNC lathes, performing setup, programing, and run/inspect of first articles. Reading drawings and precise measurement are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program CNC machines and set up tooling.

Position Title: CNC OperatorWage: $58,240.00-$74,880.00/yearShift: 2ndHours: 2:00pm-10:30pm Monday-Friday, OT is voluntary when neededQPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Operator for a company in St. Louis, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity on 2nd shift.CNC Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:CNC Milling- Small CNC mills are used with pallet changers, allowing one pallet to be loaded/unloaded while the machine continues working- Equipment includes 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines- Haas CNC machines are used, including 5-axis equipment- High-speed machining is utilized- CNC milling work involves machining components from various materials, including composites and metals- The basic machining concept is similar regardless of materialCNC Setup Operator- Program CNC machines- Read and interpret engineering drawings/diagrams- Perform dimensioning and calculations- Set up machines and tooling- Run the first piece- Inspect the first piece to ensure it meets specifications- Make necessary machine/program adjustments- Use measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, decimal measurements, and other precision measuring toolsCNC Mill - Level 2- Read and write CNC programs- Adjust programs and machine settings- Set up machines- Run machines independently- Maintain accuracy and develop advanced machine-operating expertiseCNC Lathes- Lathes are used for turning operations- Additional features can be added during the machining process- CNC lathes are used to produce various parts and components- Okuma equipment is used- Manual machines/manual machining capabilities are also availableCNC Router- CNC routers are used for machining operations- Vices can be added to the machine table to secure workpieces- 5-axis capabilities are availableCNC Operator Requirements:Key skills include- CNC programming- Machine setup- Blueprint/diagram reading- Precision measurement- Mathematics and calculations- Decimal measurements- Caliper use- Tape-measure use- Quality inspection- Machine operation- Material processing- Safety awareness- Production prioritizationIND999QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
