Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator for a manufacturing client in Missouri. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision components per engineering drawings and work instructions.

The ideal candidate has experience reading blueprints and GD&T, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work 2nd shift (2:25pm–12:45am, Mon–Thu).

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines per drawings and work instructions.
• Load materials, fixtures, and tooling; verify setup prior to production runs.
• Read blueprints and GD&T; interpret routings and inspection criteria.
• Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
• Make tool offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain accuracy.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and 5S housekeeping standards; document production data.

Position Title: CNC Mill Operator
Wage: $22.75-$26.50 per hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 2:25pm-12:45am (Mon-Thurs)

QPS Employment Group is Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Operator to join a great manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet the company’s quality, safety, and productivity standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, quality-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

CNC Mill Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Load materials, fixtures, and tooling; verify proper setup prior to production runs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, routings, and inspection criteria.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators.
• Make tool offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and part quality.
• Identify and troubleshoot machining or tooling issues and communicate concerns to leadership as needed.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Accurately complete production, quality, and inspection documentation.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Work collaboratively with team members, leads, and supervisors to meet production schedules and continuous improvement goals.

CNC Mill Operator Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic understanding of CNC controls, tooling, and machining processes.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work assigned shifts and overtime as needed.
• Technical or vocational training in CNC machining or manufacturing technology preferred.
• Experience with multi-axis or vertical CNC milling machines preferred.Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles preferred.
• Experience working in a high-quality or regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision machining and inspection tasks.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with machinery, noise, and moving equipment.
