Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor to oversee recycling processes, baling operations, and ensure outbound materials meet broker or mill standards. Responsibilities include supervising production, training operators, coordinating shift schedules, and maintaining safety and quality across the plant.

The role requires two to five years in manufacturing, HS diploma, ability to lift up to 45 pounds, and adapting to a non-climate-controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Knowledge of recycling processes and machinery from 2–5 years manufacturing experience.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
• Work in non-climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to communicate with diverse staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production operations per plant policies and procedures.
• Train and coach operators.
• Manage shift schedule: assignments, rotations, vacations, breaks, overtime.
• Coordinate startups, shutdowns and changeovers.
• Meet shift production goals and ensure quality within specifications.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping; comply with SOPs and JHAs.
• Complete shift paperwork and coordinate with Operations Manager.
