Job summary

Tilcon New York Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a Quarry Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift in West Nyack, NY. The role focuses on safe maintenance and repair of quarry plant processing equipment to meet production demands.

Responsibilities include routine preventive maintenance, inspection of conveyors and gearboxes, welding and cutting as needed, and working with heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 3+ years of practical work experience.
• Advanced mechanical skills needed.
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions in a safe manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel.
• Ability to read English.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Tolerate working at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance in a safe, efficient, and timely manner to maximize plant productivity.
• Perform housekeeping as deemed appropriate by supervisor.
• Check and maintain conveyor belts, scrapers, skirt boards, idlers, pulleys, guards and bearings.
• Check and maintain oil levels in gearboxes, crushers, and screen.
• Make sure that all guards, grease lines, etc. are put back in place and secured upon completion of a task.
• Perform cutting and welding tasks to repair plant processing equipment.
• Complete all clean up related to task before task is considered finished.
