Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Northlake, TX is hiring a Second Shift Quality Inspector to monitor and measure parts on the shop floor, verify first piece approval, and maintain safety and cleanliness. You will use quality inspection tools and Plex ERP to record results and ensure compliance with standards.

The role requires reading and following work instructions, performing daily audits, and supporting containment when defects occur. Overtime may be required to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform duties.
• 6 months quality experience; 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability; able to follow instructions and procedures.
• Able to use quality inspection tools and read job element sheets.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and gauge raw or welded parts to ensure customer specifications.
• Verify first piece inspection and approval per the process.
• Support quality containment and prevent defects from shipping.
• Ensure parts are packed according to customer requirements.
• Perform daily Layered Process Audits (LPA).
• Monitor quality alerts and validate their relevance.
• Adhere to nonconforming processes to maintain quality.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and perform housekeeping.
• Cross-train on different work centers as needed.
• Complete paperwork and document daily production.
• Meet daily production requirements and deadlines.
