Production Team Lead

Kendallville Plant

Plant Overview:

• Non-union plant employing 280 employees across 3 shifts.
• Purchased in 1934 from Breyer’s Ice Cream and began producing caramel in 1935.
• Began producing Marshmallows and Marshmallow Crème in 1961 and Marbits in 1979.
• Kendallville is the sole producer of all our product lines.

Community Overview:

• Kendallville is located about 30 minutes north of Fort Wayne and offers a small-town community.

Under the direction of the Process Owner and with the support of management staff, the employee will:

• Follow job descriptions related to clean inspect and lube, centerline management system, 5S system, data integrity, and Oscar scrap elimination system.
• Participate in annual planning, weekly reviews, PDCA meetings, and daily Level 1 and Level 2 meetings.

This employee will:

• Assist in developing center line definitions and standards.
• Develop control strategies for out-of-control situations.
• Lead root cause problem solving for key process losses.
• Coach teams on CIL, CLM, 5S, and Oscar systems execution.
• Build critical thinking skills within the team.

Qualifications:

• Initiative and results-driven attitude.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Work in hot/humid conditions and areas with starch, dust, or eggs.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing, food processing, quality standards, hygiene, and safety preferred.
• Prolonged standing and repetitive actions required.
• Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.

Benefits & Compensation:

• Starting pay: $29.75/hour
• Annual bonus, paid holidays, vacation, health insurance, 401k with match, and additional benefits.

Work Schedule:

• 2nd shift (M-F, 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm)
• Overtime may be required.
