Job summary

OMG Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Heat Treat area on the 2nd shift to lead daily manufacturing activities, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery, and drive Lean initiatives.

This leadership role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills to guide a team toward performance targets and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, Lean training, and the ability to motivate employees in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ management or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing experience required.
• Experience implementing lean manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
• Self-starter with desire and willingness to institute change.
• Ability to motivate individuals and teams to perform at high levels to meet and exceed goals.

Responsibilities

• Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
• Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Manufacturing, providing direction and support to CI Teams to exceed goals.
• Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.
• Develop new, and track existing, cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, addressing disciplinary issues and resolving employee problems.
• Develop the bench strength for our manufacturing teams.
• Communicate and implement company initiatives and policy.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and work with Quality resources to address variations.
• Develop metrics to improve daily and weekly efficiency, tracking performance through trending analyses.
• Conduct weekly team meetings to promote improvement opportunities.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
