Job summary

Riviana Foods in Colusa, CA is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to oversee packaging, blending, and processing lines and to progress continuous improvements in food safety and productivity. You will partner with the 1st Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager to manage daily production and scheduling, while driving safety and performance across the team.

The role requires 3–5 years in production (5–8 preferred), leadership skills, and knowledge of GMP/HACCP/GFSI.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years in production; 5–8 years preferred.
• Experience supervising production teams and coaching employees.
• Experience in food manufacturing/packaging is preferred.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and GFSI standards (preferably BRC).
• Understanding of Lean and continuous improvement.
• Experience with safety audits, OSHA requirements, and incident documentation.
• Ability to read SOPs, compliance docs, and procedures.
• Strong English communication; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Production Manager and Planning for Colusa scheduling and operations.
• Directly supervise 2nd shift production and personnel.
• Foster Food Safety and Quality Assurance mindset within the team.
• Manage work schedules and peak demand periods (potential 6 days/week).
• Lead continuous improvement for facilities and process efficiency; ensure worker safety.
• Lead safety meetings and coordinate with HR on performance and conduct.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventative maintenance and downtime.
• Participate in staffing, interviewing, and performance reviews; apply corrective actions.
• Influence budgeting, cost control, and scheduling decisions; drive operational accountability.
• Partner with Managers, Supervisors and Technicians to meet department goals.
• Knowledge of Allergen Control and GFCO requirements.
