Job Description

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for a meat production warehouse!

Shift: 2nd shift

Location: Owasso, OK

Pay Range: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 Annually

SUMMARY:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing production staff, overseeing daily operations, ensuring that production goals are met, and maintaining product quality and safety standards. Responsibilities may include supervising the Raw or Fully Cooked side of production and overseeing warehouse/shipping and receiving areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforce plant safety and USDA plant regulations.
  • Work on special projects as needed. Ensure compliance with company, state, and federal employment laws and practices.
  • Plan and assign work, instruct, direct, and assist employees in performing their duties. Study production schedules and estimate hourly worker requirements.
  • Establish and adjust production schedules to meet customer needs and maintain inventory rotation.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Provide continuous training and development for all line employees, operators, and leads.
  • Ensure on-time start-ups and completion of schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping.
  • Assign tasks to production workers.
  • Collaborate with QA, maintenance, and logistics teams.
  • Plan and track repairs of plant equipment.
  • Plan and track work orders.
  • Train production employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise hourly employees, oversee their work, and evaluate performance. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, and resolving employee issues, all in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (not required).
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in meat processing, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of meat processing, safety, and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Spanish knowledge is a plus but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires physical activity including twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 60 pounds or more. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete surfaces, which may be slippery. Hearing protection is required due to noise levels. The work environment is climate-controlled at -40ºF to -45ºF, with exposure to strong odors from raw meat and marinades. PPE such as hair and beard nets, rubber-soled shoes, smocks, hearing protection, and hard hats are mandatory.
