Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Production Supervisor. This position will support all areas of production by supervising processes, equipment, and personnel associated with production in the coating line and accounting for production and quality of production.This will be a 2nd shift position.

What you will be doing:

  1. Maintain clean, safe, organized material storage areas.
  2. Maintain equipment by planning and carrying out PMs as prescribed by documented procedures and creating documented procedures for PMs where needed.
  3. Produce products of exceptional quality by implementing QA approaches to meet company production objectives.
  4. Maintain ADP software for all employee reasons.
  5. Complete employee headcount in BOX daily.
  6. Assist the manager with performance reviews and status changes as needed.
  7. Provide leadership by example for all employees.
  8. Coach and train employees in policy and procedure regarding safety, quality, and productivity, in that order of importance.
  9. Plan and assign daily tasks to meet schedules and departmental goals.
  10. Control scrap logs in Thrive and improve inventory accuracy yearly.
  11. Ensure all items are identified with correct part numbers or DNI labels.
  12. Collaborate daily with scheduling, planning, shipping, supervisors, and inventory control to support current and future production.
  13. Accurately process daily receiving documentation.
  14. Report all safety incidents to the department manager, HR, and safety personnel as appropriate.
  15. Review department status daily and communicate findings to the department manager via email or in person.
  16. Participate in process improvement projects aimed at cost savings in labor and materials.
  17. Organize and plan for upcoming situations, requesting additional manpower at least one day prior to production.
  18. Review and document performance and attendance of line employees, including disciplinary actions.
  19. Create and report metrics daily, weekly, and monthly as requested by the manager.

The skills and experience you need:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Two to three years of experience in a similar manufacturing role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality, and workflow needs.
  • Supervision of a team of 30-60 employees.

Other skills:

  • Strong documentation, reporting, and computer skills.
  • Ability to react quickly to changing situations and priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
