Job summary

Cahoon Farms Inc. is seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Production Line Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, drive team performance, and ensure our high standards of food safety and quality are met. This role reports directly to the Production Manager.

The supervisor will keep production running, lead shift workers, uphold GMPs, track materials, and train staff while coordinating with management on equipment needs and downtime projects.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing or food production plant.
• Good understanding of food safety rules and GMPs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep Production Running: Ensure orders are finished on time and meet quality standards.
• Lead the Team: Oversee shift workers, maintain morale, and ensure proper staffing of lines.
• Safety & Food Standards: Enforce food safety rules and GMP compliance.
• Keep track of materials and reduce waste.
• Train & Manage Staff: Onboard new hires, support growth, address performance issues and discipline as needed.
• Review and approve weekly payroll hours and complete annual employee reviews.
• Report equipment or inventory needs to management and collaborate with Plant/Maintenance for projects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and leadership-driven 2nd Shift Production Line Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, drive team performance, and ensure our high standards of food safety and quality are met. This position will report directly to the Production Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep Production Running: Make sure orders are finished on time, meet quality standards, and communicate with management.
• Lead the Team: Oversee shift workers, keep morale up, and make sure lines are properly staffed.
• Safety & Food Standards: Keep the team safe and make sure everyone follows standard food safety rules and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Keep track of materials and reduce waste (raw ingredients, boxes, bags, chemicals, pallets, bins).
• Train & Manage Staff: Train new hires, support employee growth, resolve performance issues, and handle discipline when needed.
• Review and approve weekly payroll hours and complete annual employee reviews.
• Report equipment or inventory needs to management right away, and work with the Plant and Maintenance Managers on special projects during downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a manufacturing or food production plant.
• Good understanding of food safety rules and GMPs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shift, plus occasional Saturdays.
• Paid Vacation: 80 hours per year (option to cash out up to 40 unused hours at year-end).
• Paid Sick Time: Up to 56 hours per year.
• 401(k): Up to 3% match after your first year.
