Job Description: Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Onsite - Gurnee, Illinois

The Role:

The Production Supervisor leads their designated area and shift, ensuring safety, quality, operational performance, and positive employee engagement. This role requires strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety and quality standards, identifying improvement opportunities, managing labor resources, and handling unplanned events such as equipment downtime or personnel issues.

What You Will Do:

1. Ensure safety, quality, productivity, and workplace organization standards are met.
2. Lead safety incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
3. Support Quality Management System (QMS) procedures.
4. If responsible for the Batch Room, manage chemical storage, handling, and disposal safely.
5. Understand product quality requirements and support quality assurance processes.
6. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers.
7. Coach and mentor employees, support disciplinary actions when needed, and promote personal and organizational development.
8. Assist in training employees on safety, quality, and equipment operation.
9. Monitor operational performance and KPIs, intervening when deviations occur.
10. Assess employee performance through audits and reviews.
11. Coordinate with Production Scheduling to meet the Operating Plan.
12. Ensure work orders are completed and accurately updated in the ERP system, including line clearance responsibilities.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 4:00 PM - 3:00 AM, with alternating Fridays as needed.

What You Will Bring:

• 3-5 years manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Syspro, SAP, or similar.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead production teams effectively.
• Experience with chemical manufacturing, storage, handling, and disposal, including hazardous materials, is a plus.
• Lean and Six Sigma certification and experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation Range:

$75,400.00 - $80,000.00

Note: Salaries are role, level, and location-dependent. The range reflects the minimum and maximum targets across US locations. Individual pay depends on skills, experience, education, and training.
