Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company is seeking a supervisor for our Plant family team. The role involves overseeing daily operations, coordinating schedules, and ensuring safety and quality in metals processing and distribution.

You will guide a diverse staff and act as a technical resource for production staff, driving efficiency and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of supervisory experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a solid understanding of production

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of supervisory experience or equivalent
• High School diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and machine capability
• Knowledge of company product(s) and their uses
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to make sound decisions based on data and experience
• Ability to build cooperative relationships with staff and customers
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with software applications

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily operations for a functional area.
• Plan and establish work schedules and process sequences to meet production goals.
• Inspect production areas and monitor staff to address safety and standards.
• Analyze specifications and reports to determine production requirements.
• Make decisions on labor needs and resource allocation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support staff.
• Review performance data to improve productivity and costs.
• Monitor inventory performance and forecasts using reports and models.
• Suggest improvements in methods, equipment and conditions.
• Lead staff meetings and participate in hiring and training processes.
