Job summary

Flex in Columbia, SC is seeking a Production Specialist to oversee assembly processes, drive production schedules, and support new product introductions. The role reports to the Training Manager and requires strong manufacturing experience in a dynamic production environment.

The candidate will collaborate with Quality Engineers, ensure safety and ISO compliance, and provide documentation for equipment setups. A hands-on, problem-solving mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in small group situations.
• Requires understanding of and ability to use a wide variety of tools.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing line techniques

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains and improves assembly processes within area of responsibility.
• Evaluates process specifications periodically to reflect process requirements and reduces inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with the Quality Engineers on process improvement and corrective actions.
• Drives production schedules and resolves process-related problems.
• Supports engineering and development labs with new product introduction.
• Assists in safety compliance (ISO and business controls).
• Provides production-ready documentation with equipment setup and programs.
• Leads team in process and efficiency improvements.
• Handles first calls in non-maintenance down issues and assists with changes.
• Monitors equipment performance and performs minor adjustments.
• Performs basic maintenance and repairs under supervision.
• Assists operators by answering questions and demonstrating operations.
• Spot checks product to ensure quality levels.
• Stays current with process and equipment changes and upgrades.
• Must have knowledge and experience with assembly requirements.
