Carrier's Indianapolis, Indiana facility is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. You will diagnose faults, repair equipment, and keep the production line running with a focus on reliability and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Electrical repair and calibration on manufacturing equipment.
• Use multimeters, oscilloscopes and hand tools to troubleshoot and wire circuits.
• Lay out wiring and maintain circuits for machine installations, conveyors, elevators, cranes, and busbars.
• Replace components including gas valves, relays, fuses, and EAC compressors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep the work area safe and compliant with EHS standards.

About This Role

Carrier’s facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, who manufactures residential gas furnaces, is recruiting 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician to join the Manufacturing Engineering team.

The 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician must know their way around a control cabinet, PLC systems, and a multimeter. Our Indianapolis furnace manufacturing plant is a unionized (voluntary) site, offering the kind of stability, competitive hourly pay, and benefits that skilled tradespeople deserve. Working Hours

• Hours: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM (10‑hour shifts).
• Flexibility: Friday requirements often extend to 12‑hour shifts (5:00 PM to 5:00 AM).
• Incentives: 2nd shift includes a $0.30/hr. premium.
• Overtime: Weekly overtime is expected. Overtime pay is time‑and‑a‑half, and while we try to avoid Sundays, Sunday work is paid at double‑time.

Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Repair: Diagnose faults, perform actual repairs, readjustments, or calibrations on manufacturing equipment.
• Technical Tooling: Utilize multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand, electrical, or soldering tools to troubleshoot and wire electrical circuits.
• Installation: Lay out construction wiring and maintain electrical circuits for machine installations, conveyors, elevators, cranes, and busbars.
• Component Replacement: Replace unit components including gas valves, control relays, protective relays, fan/blower motors, fuses, and EAC compressors.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform preventive maintenance per schedules and preserve clean, safe work areas in accordance with site safety rules and EHS standards.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current journeyman's card OR successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for an Electrician OR pass the applicable Industrial Assessment Test (score of 70% or higher)
• 3+ years’ experience working as an industrial electrician
• Willing and able to complete the Carrier safety programs successfully

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 - $48.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
