Job summary
Carrier’s Indianapolis facility, which manufactures residential gas furnaces, is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Electrician to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. The role requires familiarity with control cabinets, PLC systems, and multimeters, and offers a stable, unionized environment with competitive hourly pay and benefits.
You will diagnose faults, perform repairs and preventive maintenance, and contribute to keeping the production line running at peak performance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Journeyman's card or completion of Skilled Trades Apprenticeship in Electrician.
- 3+ years’ experience as an industrial electrician.
- Willing and able to complete Carrier safety programs.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Repair: Diagnose faults, perform repairs, readjustments, or calibrations on manufacturing equipment.
- Technical Tooling: Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, hand tools, or soldering equipment to troubleshoot and wire circuits.
- Installation: Lay out wiring for machines, conveyors, elevators, cranes, and busbars.
- Component Replacement: Replace gas valves, relays, fuses, and motors as needed.
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform preventive maintenance and keep work areas clean and safe per site rules.
