Job summary

Avient Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor to staff, supervise, train and evaluate a production team. You will direct multiple production operations, drive improvements, and ensure safety, quality and on-time schedules.

You will coordinate with Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance and Warehouse to meet production goals. The role requires leading cross-functional teams, maintaining documentation, and managing staffing and performance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Cross Functional Leadership 5 years.
• Experience: Managing Direct Reports 5 years.
• Experience: Manufacturing Industry 5 years.
• Experience: Manufacturing Operations 5 years.
• Software Skills: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, supervision, direction, training and evaluation of an assigned production team.
• Directs and controls multiple production operations.
• Ensure manufacturing phases are performed safely and efficiently.
• Identify and solve equipment or personnel issues.
• Drive formula improvements and equipment revisions.
• Communicate with Supply Chain Planning, Quality/Lab, Maintenance and Warehouse to meet production schedules.
• Publish process condition setup sheets and maintain the database.
• Produce shop floor paperwork for process orders.
• Coordinate training for new hires and long-term associates.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain maximum throughput with acceptable quality.
• Plan vacations and coverage to optimize staffing.
• Minimize product loss and scrap production.
• Administer performance appraisals and provide feedback.
• Enter information into SAP in a timely manner.
• Manage production supply inventories and restock items as needed.
• Review timekeeping in E-Time and address attendance issues.
• Coordinate shift turnover with other supervisors.
• Maintain Tour Ready housekeeping throughout the plant.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.
