Job summary

Welch Packaging Group is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Supervisor on 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs 2:30pm-12:30am) to guide the plant in building a behavior-based safety culture, produce quality products, and improve overall plant efficiency.

The role focuses on leading a team, ensuring safe operations, coaching staff, and maintaining production reporting and communication across shifts in a typical office or manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or training experience.
• Packaging industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety of associates and implement safety procedures.
• Develop and motivate direct reporting staff.
• Monitor production performance and address issues.
• Communicate clearly with staff verbally or in writing.
• Identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain housekeeping and a safe workplace.
• Make decisions on quality or scheduling within the org structure.
• Report to the plant superintendent any changes from crews.
• Enforce company policies (attendance, quality, safety, conduct).
• Maintain and authorize employee time cards daily.
• Conduct weekly new employee evaluations in their first month.
• Complete RGAs.
