Job summary

Welch Packaging Group is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Supervisor to guide the department in creating and maintaining a safety-focused culture, producing quality products, and improving plant efficiencies. The role demands strong leadership, effective communication, and hands-on supervision across shift teams.

You will oversee daily operations, enforce safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with plant leadership and staff across the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in the packaging industry preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives and ensure safety procedures across the plant.

Lead Manufacturing department to create and maintain a behavior-based safety culture, produce quality products and maintain and increase plant efficiencies..

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for safety of associates and implementing safety procedures established throughout the plant.
• Manage, Develop, and motivate direct reporting staff
• Monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance, general issues
• To ensure good communication is given either verbally or written to all members of staff
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
• Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
• Be able to make appropriate decisions involving quality, or scheduling while following the companies organizational structure.
• Communicate with the plant superintendent any changes communicated from crews.
• Enforce and discipline any associates breaking our companies policies (i.e. attendance, quality, safety, associate conduct).
• Maintain and authorize employee time cards on a daily basis
• Conduct new employee evaluations at the end of each week within their first month of employment
• Responsible for the completion of RGAs
• Report and communicate order shortages
• Responsible for correctness of production and quality reporting
• Duties may vary depending on location

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Experience

• Packaging industry experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or training experience
