Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Production Cell Leader to supervise a second-shift cell in Richardson, TX. You will lead a production/prototype team, balance staffing, and ensure timely, high-quality output while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

The role requires 4–5 years in manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with board assembly, SMT, and soldering processes. The position emphasizes teamwork, certifications, and capability to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Four to five years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with continued education.
• Knowledge of production processes and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Acts as lead and problem solver, balances personnel and facilitates the movement of product(s) through designated area of responsibility.
• Monitors the conduct, performance and contribution of cell members.
• Performs manual assembly, operation of automated assembly equipment, hand soldering, operation of automated test equipment, and inspection and repair of products.
• Monitors quantity and quality output and leads production or prototype team to meet group goals.
• Compiles data and generates reports on cell performance.
• Possesses foundation skills and appropriate technical / leadership skills.
• Must possess specific certifications as defined by site operations.
• Knowledge and understanding of board assembly process and product process flow.
• Knowledge of product quality, soldering specifications and SMT processing systems.
• Ability to set up, operate, and maintain assembly and hand soldering equipment and tools.
• Ability to recognize problems in the assembly process or with assembly components and to address those problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to work effectively with team members and lead the team to high quality production within tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in the applications appropriate to the area e.g. : Word, Lotus Notes, Excel and Documentation control systems.
• More advanced manufacturing system knowledge.
