Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems in York, PA is seeking a Precision Measurement Technician (2nd Shift) to support Navy Systems. You will qualify and perform non-destructive tests (dye penetrant and magnetic particle) and operate CMMs, gauges, and inspection equipment, calibrating and recording results.

The role requires strong attention to detail, experience with SPC, and the ability to prepare documentation and assist cross-functional teams in process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience with nondestructive testing methods (DPT, MPI).
• Ability to plan and perform setup sequences for NDT and dimensional inspection.
• Familiarity with SPC and quality data analysis.
• Proficient use of precision measuring devices and gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret prints, charts, codes and specifications.
• Apprenticeship or formal training in precision measurement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Qualify in NDT procedures: dye penetrant and magnetic particle tests.
• Set up, program, and operate CMM; calibrate and date instruments.
• Inspect, calibrate, and repair precision gauges and measuring devices.
• Audit tooling, fixtures, and parts; document findings and improvements.
• Support startup procedures and identify malfunctions; perform maintenance checks.
• Develop continuous improvement through cross-functional SPC projects.
