Sterling Engineering, Inc. in Libertyville, IL, seeks a 2nd shift Production Supervisor to lead 15–20 powder coating operators.

The role requires 2–3 years of supervisory experience, powder coating expertise, strong communication, and proficiency with ERP or scheduling systems. This direct-hire position offers $80k–$85k per year plus a performance bonus, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401k.

Competenze

• Powder coating experience 2–3 years preferred.
• Supervisory experience 2–3 years minimum, overseeing 8–12+ people.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and quality-driven mindset.
• Ability to read/write in English.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Stand for full shifts, lift up to 35 lbs., and perform repetitive motions.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience with ERP or scheduling systems.
• Exposure to OEM quality standards.

Mansioni

• Lead 15–20 operators on 2nd shift.
• Train new employees on powder coating processes.
• Start up the line daily and verify proper operation.
• Manage daily workflow to meet production demands.
• Oversee loading/unloading of parts on the line.
• Ensure masking, plugging, and thread protection meet specs.
• Maintain adherence to customer paint class and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with hangers and production schedule to avoid missed orders.
• Monitor packaging and preparation for shipment or inventory transfer.
• Communicate daily with management, HR, and other departments via email.
• Troubleshoot line equipment and resolve issues as needed.
• Multi-task and prioritize in a high-paced environment.
