Job summary

QPS Employment Group in Decatur, IL is seeking an Industrial Painter - Powder Application on 2nd shift to prepare parts, operate powder coating equipment, and ensure finish quality. The role requires experience in powder coating or industrial painting, ability to read production specs, and a focus on safety.

The compensation is $24.50-$28.00 per hour, with starting pay based on experience. Some Saturday OT is required, and benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Previous powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred
• Experience operating electrostatic powder coating equipment
• Knowledge of coating thickness measurements and quality standards
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and production specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for powder coating through cleaning, masking, hanging, and surface preparation processes
• Set up and operate powder coating equipment and related systems
• Mix, load, and monitor powder materials to ensure proper application and finish quality
• Use thickness gauges, gloss gauges, and other measuring equipment to verify coating specifications
• Apply primers, specialty coatings, and finish coats as required
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customer and company quality standards
• Perform color changes, equipment adjustments, and routine maintenance of spray equipment
• Maintain curing ovens and monitor coating processes to ensure proper adhesion and finish
• Clean spray booths, equipment, and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient environment
• Safely handle coating materials and follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations
• Wear required PPE and follow all company safety procedures
