Job summary

KIK Consumer Products is seeking a PLC Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (1:00pm – 9:30pm, Mon-Fri, weekends as needed) to ensure optimal performance of automation equipment in our Florida manufacturing facilities. You will troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLCs and HMIs, read schematics, support upgrades, and collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to improve reliability and uptime.

Required 2+ years of PLC experience, strong electrical knowledge, and safe working

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical cert in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or Electronics preferred
• 2+ years of experience troubleshooting, programming and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing/industrial setting
• Experience programming/troubleshooting PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or similar systems required
• Hands-on experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, motion controls, SCADA, and related automation equipment
• Knowledge of industrial networks/protocols including Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, control panels, instrumentation, and safety circuits
• Ability to read electrical schematics, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E and electrical safety standards knowledge
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office preferred
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergencies as needed

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial automation and electrical control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors)
• Program, modify, and optimize PLC and HMI applications to improve equipment performance and efficiency
• Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment
• Analyze electrical/pneumatic/control issues to minimize downtime and restore production
• Read and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control drawings
• Support automation projects including controls design, installation, testing, and commissioning
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Production to implement corrective actions
• Maintain and back up PLC programs, HMI apps, electrical drawings and documentation
• Ensure control systems comply with safety standards and electrical codes
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and automation systems
• Train maintenance technicians and production personnel on equipment operation and troubleshooting
• Identify and implement continuous improvement to increase uptime, quality, safety, and efficiency
