Somic America in Wytheville, VA is seeking a Plating Operator for our second shift to operate and monitor an automated plating line. You will load parts, monitor the line, and help ensure quality while working with a team in a hot environment. Training and coaching will be provided by team leaders and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based plating environment.
• Willingness to learn and take coaching from leadership.

Responsibilities

• Removes material from boxes and places on conveyor or in fixture.
• Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions.
• Measures and inspects parts for conformance to specifications.
• Adjusts machine and clears jams per procedure.
• Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Reviews setup sheet for procedure and dimensions.
• Attaches fixture and positions workpiece per setup instructions.
• Loads and changes tools as required during machining.
• Operates controls to index tools and start machines.
• Completes routine line maintenance as assigned.
• Ensures pokayoke devices are operational.
• Maintains a safe work area.
