Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a 2nd shift Painter (Paint Line) for the Abilene, KS facility. Work hours are Monday through Thursday, 4:30 p.m.

to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays as needed. The role involves loading paint lines, prepping parts, and ensuring accurate inventory and quality checks. The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to Lean Manufacturing practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prev. paint experience helpful but not required.
• Ability to lift, carry and position parts up to 50 lbs.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Load paint lines safely to max capacity per daily production requirements.
• Learn prep steps for unfinished parts before final topcoat.
• Download painted parts safely and ensure correct part identification and delivery to location to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Inspect painted parts at unload station for quality defects.
• Pack painted parts to ensure safe arrival to customer.
• Adapt to all paint line duties including Load, Prep, Unload, Material Handling & Painting.
