Job summary

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Packer/Shipper I in El Monte, CA to construct pallets, label and pack panels, cores or other materials for shipment. This role reports to the Shipping Manager and involves hands-on packing with attention to data accuracy.

Key duties include assembling wooden skids, generating accurate shipping labels, and preparing finished products for shipment on the 2nd shift, with potential overtime on weekends.

Qualifications

• Sufficient English Skills – read and understand all company documents.
• Company ERP system and Basic PC Skills – as required.
• 1-2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to demonstrate math proficiency equal to or greater than required for the position applied.
• Must be available to work the shift specified and be flexible to potential overtime on weekends/ holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assembles wooden skids using tools, wood product and other materials according to required packaging codes.
• Completes product count and ensures type and quantity as it conforms to internal pack list.
• Generate shipping labels for packages. Must be accurate and validate or verify data prior to labels
• Packs finished product into boxes or drums, using strapping or tape. Applies labels for shipping.
• Must be able to use tools such as bench saw, table saw, hammer, nails, nail gun, staple gun, glue gun, and steel strapping, etc.
• Must know how to read and follow internal shipping instructions, make stamps or labels have knowledge of company products.
• Must be available to work any shift, over-time and weekends.
• Must keep product and all work areas neat and clean
• Performs other duties as assigned.
