Job summary

The Gill Corporation in El Monte, CA seeks a Saw Operator Lead to assist the department supervisor with day-to-day panel saw operations, including setup and operation of saws to cut panels and liners.

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the role includes training operators, coordinating workloads, inspecting products, and maintaining quality and safety standards on the 2nd shift with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Sufficient English skills - speak, read, write and understand all company documents.
• 5+ years of related material cutting/sawing experience and/or training.
• Forklift Certification, CA driver’s license with clean record.
• Must have an acceptable Audiometry test.

Responsibilities

• Assists in training current and new operators in safety and daily functions.
• Coordinates work load and priorities daily to meet objectives.
• Reviews GPS and production orders prior to cutting and sets up accordingly.
• Pre-inspects products for quality imperfections.
• Checks dimensions using measuring tools (tape, micrometers).
• Trims product according to GPS and orders.
• Counts and records throughput by part number; updates ERP system.
• Sets material on skids after cutting and transfers to QC.
• Maintains clean work area; adheres to Clean-As-You-Go.
• Operates manual and computer-controlled panel saws and related barcode equipment.
• Available to work any shift, overtime and weekends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
