Job summary

Petmate in Lancaster, TX is hiring a 2nd Shift Shipping Operations Clerk to manage outbound shipments. You will ensure accurate picking, packing and shipping in line with customer requirements and company standards, working closely with the shipping team.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in a distribution center, and experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks, with the ability to use RF devices and warehouse software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• 1 year of distribution center experience.
• Previous experience driving Forklifts, Order Pickers (Cherry Picker), Reach Trucks, and/or Pallet Jacks Required

Responsibilities

• Ensuring drivers are checked in and out efficiently and on time.
• Follow special shipping instructions, including any Bill of Lading requirements.
• Coordinate emails between shipping and Transportation team.
• Provide yard check assignment sheets to the transportation team.
• Advise the Transportation Team of any carrier detention.
• Answer calls and emails from carriers and internal Petmate personnel involved in shipping.
• Complete required shipping documentation and provide it to Customer Service and Customers as required.
• Follow safety policies and reflect the company vision toward customer satisfaction.
• Follow proper lifting techniques, including team lifting when items are heavy.
• Maintain a clean, organized facility through housekeeping and open aisles.
• Use warehouse systems and report unsafe activities that could affect operations.
• Security responsibilities for premises, equipment, inventory and information.
• Be flexible with work hours, including overtime, and respond to varying workloads.
• Assist in loading or shipping of small parcel packages.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
