Job summary

Perdue Foods in Perry, Georgia, is seeking an Operations Safety Lead for the 2nd shift. You will implement and oversee safety programs across our processing operations, identify hazards, and drive compliance with OSHA standards to keep the team safe and productive.

This role focuses on developing safety policies, conducting audits and training, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer in a comparable field.
• Experience in a poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong focus on safety compliance and training across operations.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and enforce safety requirements, PPE usage, and reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA regulations and company standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments; recommend corrective actions.
• Lead safety training sessions for employees to promote a culture of safety.
• Interview associates to assess knowledge of safety programs and ensure training is provided.
• Collaborate with management to set safety goals and monitor progress.
• Investigate accidents/incidents; document findings and propose preventive measures.
• Serve as a resource for safety inquiries and provide guidance to team members on best practices.
• Promote continuous improvement of safety programs across all operations.
