Job summary

O’Neal Steel seeks an Operations Supervisor (2nd Shift) for our Shelbyville, IN facility to oversee processing, loading, and shipping while meeting safety and cost targets. You will lead hourly staff, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with maintenance to maximize uptime and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of supervisory experience in steel or similar, strong Lean knowledge, and proficiency with Excel; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in steel/service center or warehouse industry.
• Experience in steel processing and service center operations.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with safety training, truck scheduling, and routing.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise warehouse and delivery employees, schedule work, monitor performance and payroll.
• Ensure staff training and provide required tools to perform duties.
• Coordinate and execute the production work schedule.
• Develop cross-training opportunities for employees.
• Oversee quality of manufactured products and meet delivery dates.
• Apply lean principles to drive process improvements and cost control.
• Support maintenance planning to maximize uptime of assets.
• Monitor budgets and assist in solving internal/external customer issues.
