Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist, Multi-Axis - Level 4/5 for 2nd shift to produce precision parts for tooling and ground support equipment. You will program, setup, and operate multi-axis CNC machines, ensuring parts meet strict tolerances and quality specifications.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, running multiple machines, performing inspections with precision tools, and supporting projects from planning through testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 6+ years of experience on multi-axis lathes and mills or other CNC machines
• 1+ years of CNC programming experience
• Experience using Mastercam or Aspire
• Experience with open setup inspection including CMMs or other inspection equipment
• Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience

Responsibilities

• Interprets blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine machining methods, sequences, dimensions, and tolerances for precision parts
• Sets up multi-axis CNC lathes and mills to precise tolerances and machines fixtures, tools, and components to drawing specifications with limited supervision
• Programs and operates multiple CNC machines and processes concurrently to meet production schedules and quality targets
• Measures, inspects, and tests completed parts using precision instruments to detect defects and confirm conformance to specifications
• Supports metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing
• Cleans and maintains machines, tools, and cutting equipment to sustain reliable production
