Job summary

Stryten Energy in Indiana is seeking a Mold Mechanic I to perform mold repair and support the molding department's production objectives on 2nd shift (3pm–11pm). Responsibilities include scheduled and emergency repairs, mold improvements, and collaboration with process engineering to troubleshoot tooling problems.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, apprenticeship training (preferred), and 2 years machinist experience related to injection molds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Apprenticeship Training certificate (preferred but not required).
• Two years Machinist experience as it relates to injection molds (Preferred).
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair molds as needed.
• Fundamental understanding of injection molding
• Understanding of mold construction and mold maintenance principles.
• NC milling machines and NC lathes
• Surface grinding
• EDM machine operation
• Basic math and trigonometry
• Machine tool set-up
• Blue print reading
• Welding
• Basic mechanical layout (dimension and sketch tooling, jigs, fixture and ect.)
• Basic Computer Skills
• Physical requirements as defined in associated job analysis.
• Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and emergency repairs on all injection molds.
• Use L2L to dispatch and record repairs.
• Complete L2L Dispatches with a clear description of work done.
• Assist with Root Cause Analysis and repetitive failures as they relate to injection molds.
• Assist with engineering projects / modification work.
• Willingness to work as a team.
• Able to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet specified deadlines.
• Good communication with process engineering to work on improving molding thru tooling improvements and processing; diagnose/trouble shoot and help/implement corrections to tooling problems with other facilities
• Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed/required basis in order to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts.
• Work within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
• Attend all required trainings and meetings.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures including the use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and other lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
