Job summary

Aerotek in Clare, MI is seeking skilled Welder Level 1 for the second shift (4:00pm–2:00am) Mon–Thu, with potential overtime on Fridays. You will MIG weld mild steel using 0.045 wire, set up machines and temperatures, and read 2D blueprints while operating grinders, hoists and cranes.

The role requires inspecting welds for quality, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with 1–2 other welders on projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience in MIG welding.
• Ability to set up welders and read blueprints.
• Proficiency with tape measure and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

• Set up and lay out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and rework finished products.
• Read blueprints and drawings to fabricate and weld components accordingly.
• Perform MIG welding with 0.045 weld wire.
• Inspect welds to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain and operate welding equipment.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and hand tools such as grinders and saws.
• Collaborate with 1-2 other welders depending on the project.
