Job summary

Alabama Clinical Schools Inc. seeks a Mental Health Associate for the 2nd shift (1:00pm-9:00pm) in Birmingham.

You will provide direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders, ensuring safety while applying therapeutic approaches to daily activities and group sessions. Qualifications include a relevant mental health degree or higher, strong documentation skills, and eligibility for background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associates degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or other related mental health field preferred, but not required.
• Detailed and organized with strong documentation skills.
• Experience in a residential mental/behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
• Must be 19 years or older, and have a successful drug screen and background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents with psychiatric disorders and ensure their safety.
• Utilize a therapeutic approach to tasks including assistance with daily activities, group facilitation, and other duties as assigned by supervision.
