Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Material Handler for the second shift at our Indianapolis, IN facility. You will receive, stage, issue, and deliver materials to support production schedules and customer orders, while safely operating pallet jacks and other handling equipment.

You will enter inventory transactions into ERP/MRP systems, perform cycle counts, inspect inbound materials, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with material handling and material movement.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to use proper lifting techniques and material movement equipment effectively.
• Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stage, issue, and deliver materials within the facility to support production schedules and customer orders.
• Safely operate pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment.
• Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
• Accurately enter inventory transactions into ERP/MRP systems or scanning devices.
• Perform cycle counts, assist with physical inventories, and report discrepancies to supervisors.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols, use PPE, and practice proper lifting techniques.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly store tools and equipment.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime when needed, cross-training in other areas, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
