Job summary

Hallmark in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Materials Movement Specialist for 2nd shift to move stock between production areas and the warehouse, load trucks, and manage recyclable materials. The role requires forklift certification and rigorous safety adherence, with flexibility to cover multiple assignments within the department.

Responsibilities include coordinating with contractors, maintaining documentation, and supporting shipping and receiving operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Ability to frequently move materials up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds from the floor
• Ability to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time
• Ability to repeatedly push, pull, twist, bend and reach above shoulder level

Responsibilities

• Be certified to operate forklifts and other power equipment.
• Transport stock between production, warehouse or between shipping and receiving docks and load onto trucks.
• Prepare materials for shipment using banding equipment, power saws, power drills, film wrapper and string tie; responsible for documentation related to stock movement.
• Coordinate with paper recycling contractor, metal, or other contractors regarding pickup and delivery of storage containers and trailers; perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on balers and power equipment.
• Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork to influence goals with shorter time frames.
• Communicate effectively with outside vendors and other departments.
• Utilize good safety practices.
